About Farmbrook Designs
Farmbrook Designs is a small family business specializing in hypertufa products. There are just two of us, Glenda (the mom) and Chris (the son.)
We each contribute design ideas, develop prototypes, construct molds, create products and sell our products at a variety of garden events. Chris also handles wholesale orders while Glenda manages the web site.
Neither of us has design training but we keep coming up with new ideas. We usually introduce several new design categories each year. We also enjoy creating custom pieces for our customers.

How We Started
The idea of a hypertufa business originated in 2000 when Glenda was about to become unemployed. Having worked in a variety of settings for over 30 years, Glenda just could not drum up the enthusiasm for another "real" job.
While she had been employed, she learned about hypertufa on HGTV. She and Chris had even made a few pieces for fun. She always loved gardening and knew many others did, too. There were only a handful of other hypertufa businesses on the internet at that time. And, she thought, there was a market for pieces with a bit more design sophistication, not quite so rustic.
Chris was not really happy with the work he was doing, either. Together they researched recipes, types of ingredients, mold ideas, possible markets and Farmbrook Designs was on its way. Why Farmbrook? Glenda owned some property on a street called Farmbrook. She planned to build a home and workshop there.
